Such is Life

My sister and I (and our husbands) went to our cousin's wedding in October.  It was a beautiful ceremony and reception.  It was great to be there and see her walk down the aisle.  A weekend later, my fried, Stacey, came with me to the Zac Brown Band concert.  It was a fun girls' night out to eat and then to the concert.

Tate's First School Party

Tate had his "Fall Party" at school.  They did a pumpkin hunt, made a craft and played a few games.  Tate enjoyed himself and was happy that I was there, too.  He's getting so big.

After two near-death experiences by our Boxer, Jax (no, I'm not joking), Herky is thriving and remarkably doing very well - considering he lost 40% of his feathers; 30% being his tail feathers. Naturally, he shuts down when he sees the Boxers, but for some reason, he's taken a strange liking to the largest dog we have, Molls. Actually, he let's Molls get as close as she wants, but when the Boxers come into view, he starts molting!! He's a great little bird and has come far in his training. Needless to say, and no surprise here, he loves ME the best! ;-)

Lunch time

At least once a month, Tate and I go to Ty's school to have lunch with him.  He thinks it's so special when we come up there, and so do I.  I love spending that little time with him at his school.

Happy Halloween!

Say hello to Stitch and Captain Braidbeard!  After many weeks of searching for a Stitch costume, I finally found one online.  We had fun doing the make-up for the costumes, too.  We met a my sister's house, like we always do, and started our trek through the neighborhood in search of candy!  After only an hour, we called it quits (with literally a thousand pieces of candy), and came home.  The boys had so much fun with their cousins.

Family Photos 2011

It is that time of year again - one that I dread.  For those of you that know me well, you know that I don't handle structured chaos very well.  And trying to get two young children (who are boys) to sit still, stop touching eachother, smile, smile, smile, is a very tough feat for any family.  By the time we left, I was sweating buckets and had a headache.  Needless to say, I don't look forward to picture time at all; until I get the photos back and then I'm happy we did it.  Until next year. . . .

This is the only photo that was taken of the boys together.  Tate was being a pill and just wouldn't smile.  This photo was actually taken by my iPhone.

A little randomness- it's how we roll.

Now that we're well into fall, I thought for sure that things would slow down a bit.  Um . . . .  WRONG!  We're still just as busy, all the time.  Brian is almost done with soccer season - so we're very much looking forward to that!  Here's a few shots of the boys being boys.

Family Fun Night

I recently bought some blank canvases so the boys could create their own individual piece of art.  They thought it was relly cool and really enjoyed doing it.  Brian and I also participated and created our own art work, too.  It was a good Family Fun Night.

Last Few Days of Summer Fun

Our good friends have a boat out at Big Creek and have graciously asked the boys and I to tag along a few times. The boys love the water and today they swam in the water for a good hour and loved every minute of it! Before long, we'll be outside in our snow boots (which I cannot wait for), but it's still nice to enjoy a day like this in the middle of September!

Herky

Meet Herky Cornelius Duax, the newest member of our family. I have every intention of training him and teaching him to speak. We love him so much already - well, the boys and I do. . . . Brian, not so much. ;-)

Science Center. On the Weekend. Punch me in the face!

My boys are always on the go and never ones to just lie around watching TV all day, so because it has been raining here all day, I thought we better get the boys out of the house. We decided on the Science Center and asked our good friends and neighbor to tag along, too. Once we arrived, we were immediately thrown into a gigantic line (which I've never experienced, but then again, I never go on a a Saturday at 1 p.m. either). Then once entering the world of little exploreres, it was a bit much. Those that know me well, know that I would prefer to skip the huge crowds - especially the part where I have to fight (not literally - most times) another kid just so my kid can have a 30 second turn on something that half the time, doesn't work how it's suppose to anyway. Nonetheless, all the boys enjoyed themselves and it was nice to get out of the house, if only for a few hours.
